Why not make this cute witch silhouette into a permanent piece of Halloween wall art instead? (see below)After racking my brain, this is what I came up with! Best of all, it didn't cost me a penny because I already had the supplies:
1.a printer
2.a piece of white card stock
3. black craft paint
4. paint brush
5. a black dollar store 8" x 101/2" DIPLOMA frame
6. masking tape
I'm guessing that most of you that are reading this already have the supplies also-except maybe the dollar store frame. By the way, you will probably see it closer to Halloween in a diplay hung by orange grograin ribbon or black grograin ribbon with white polka dots at my house. (just in case you want to purchase ribbon also)
The first thing I had to do was draw a free hand copy of the witch in pencil onto computer paper. (But for all of you, I have done that step for you.
Step 1:
Simply copy the next image into microsoft word and make sure it is left justified
Step 2:
Enlarge it to take up as much of the page as possible
Step 3:
print it onto standard computer paper
Step 4:
Next, tape it up to a window, and then line up a piece of white cardstock over the top of it so that the image will be centered on your cardstock (your pattern isn't quite centered from left to right). Lightly tape it with masking tape so that it won't tear, yet so it doesn't move while you trace it) Trace it in black permanent marker (if you're not confident, use a pencil first, and then the marker after you remove it from the window).
Take it off the window, and paint the inside with a thin, smooth coat of black craft paint. Start at the point of the hat.
Let it dry, clean the glass in your new frame, and pop it in! Add ribbon if you want also.
If you liked this craft, would you like me to do two more different Halloween silhouettes to go with this one so that you can have a series of three?
