There's a part of me that lies stuck in the hollows of old pictures. When I saw this old photograph laying on a table at a yard sale, it spoke to me. People enjoying a moment now long passed. I love the time period and the clothing that they are wearing. Since they are dining, I thought it would be fun to put in my kitchen and incorporate it into a display...
First I cleaned the glass and took off the price sticker (.50cents). Then I centered it in my buffet window and created a vignette around it...
The lamp in the window used to be brown-I painted it white. The ceramic roosters on the left came from a yard sale as well as the green candle and holder (each item less than a dollar!) One of my favorite boutiques just went out of business and I was able to get the sturdy weathered pots for $3 a piece! Then I just stuck the greenery inside each of them.

Beatiful Robyn! I wish I could come visit..
ReplyDeleteAn instant conversation piece! How often do you get asked to tell the story around the photo? Your vignette is lovely, Robyn.
