Updated kitchen cabinet display~

Hello Everyone!  Did you have a nice Easter?  We went to two different sessions of church.  One was on Saturday night, and the other was Sunday morning.  At the Saturday evening session, my seventeen year old son spoke on love and service, and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.  He did such a wonderful job, and the other speakers and music were so uplifting as well.

The Easter Bunny came on Saturday morning and dropped off  a few treats, instead of Sunday.  We started this tradition when the kids were little so that we can truly focus on Jesus Christ on the Sabbath. Unfortunately, we don't live near our extended families, so it was just our little family for Easter.  My kids have been so tired of ham since Christmas, so I tried to break out of tradition by trying out a pinterest recipe for crock pot orange chicken instead.  Well, It failed!  We came home to burnt chicken.  Oh well, it was still a beautiful day, full of sunshine.

And, Grace enjoyed reading one of my favorite books as I practiced my photography...

Reception Snapshots

Happy President's Day!  Here are the photos from the wedding reception that I promised.  You can read a little more about the idea behind it all here.  It was held in our church cultural hall...which is a bit of a challenge to decorate.  I didn't attempt to take photos in there because I wasn't sure how they would turn out.  However, the photographer (who happens to be a friend) shared these photos with me to use on my blog, and I just played around with them a little bit more for this post...

fun finds

Today is  "mulching day"!  :)  We take all of our yard waste (and believe me, it is A LOT!) to the township recycling location, and bring back mulch for our flower beds.  Then we spread it...all... day... long.  Sounds like fun, right?

When we were in Florida, I picked up the bird house that is on my piano.  I like the texture of it, and the natural color that brings just a bit of the rustic look into my home.  The silk peonies I found at a yard sale.  They had two of them, and I sure wish now that I had bought them both!  The bird house and the peonies cost $3.00 each...pretty good deals I think.

Happy Father's Day tomorrow!

spring vignette

I love these little chick salt and pepper shakers.  I picked them up at a yard sale some time ago.  You may have seen them in some of my other photographs.  The little watering can came from a yard sale too...I spray painted it red of course.  This fun little display sits in the middle of my kitchen table and reminds me how much I love spring!
