Miniature sweet treats
Looking for something fun to do with the kids this summer? How about miniature sweet treats! Kids love anything tiny. And actually, so do I! I used to collect miniatures for my dollhouse when I was younger. I never did "play" with the dollhouse, but I was always creating little miniatures and decorating the house. I guess that is why I have such a passion today for decorating my real home. The recipes are from an American Girl magazine and book called Tiny Treats. You can pick up a copy here or here, but I'll tell you how to make my favorite little treats from the book. They are super easy.
* The little ice cream cones are actually corn shaped snacks. You use a melon baller to form tiny scoops of ice cream.
*All you need for the little kiss cookies are peanut butter cookie dough, sugar, and chocolate chips. Simply preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll a marble sized piece of refrigerated dough in sugar. Bake 6 minutes. Top each one with a chocolate chip!
*For the little cutie cakes, you will need two chocolate sandwich cookies for each one~like oreos. Use a butter knife to spread frosting on one side. Lay the second cookie on top of the frosted side. Frost the top and sides of the stack. (Optional: crush a walnut with the back of a spoon and sprinkle around the edge.)
*Small S'mores~ You will need mini marshmallows, graham flavored cereal squares, and chocolate chips. Layer them like real s'mores and heat in microwave for 8-10 seconds.
We will be doing this as part of a little girl's church activity in a few weeks. Sounds fun, right? :)
