Making a lampshade from a skirt!
Well, I stumbled upon this cute little cream ruffled skirt at the thrift store for $3. It was too small for me, but I couldn't pass it up! I decided that I had to think of a way to reuse it! Then I remembered that I had a thrift store lamp base in my basement with an ugly shade. I simply cut off the waist band of the skirt, fitted it over the lampshade, and hot glued the top edge of the skirt to the inside top of the shade! It was a little tight, so I had to cut the fabric a bit in order for it to fit over the shade. You wouldn't know, because I keep that side turned toward the wall!
I love recycling, and coming up with new, creative uses for things. Don't you just love the ruffle on this shade?
