sometimes there is a surprise inside!

I love to find vintage suitcases to decorate with.  I tuck them under coffee tables, or stack them to make a unique side table.  Usually I can find them at yard sales for just a dollar or two.  This cool leather one that I picked up is engraved with the brand "Globetrotter"... New York.  (When I took the photo I hadn't dusted it off yet. :)  Anyway, my daughter helped me lug the suitcases home from the sale.  When we unloaded them from the car, she said, "Mom!  It sounds like something is inside this one!"

It took a little work to figure out how to open it, but once we did, she was thrilled!  There were treasures inside!  (I was hoping for treasures as old as the suitcase, but to her...these treasures were just as exciting)  There were bead necklaces, a black brocade scarf, and a fan!

They are perfect for her dress up chest.  While we were out, I found a few little extra treasures for myself!

Oh, the thrill of the hunt!
