I have always wanted marble counter tops, but didn't think they would ever be in my budget, until now! You see, I saw an ad in a magazine for Rust-Oleum countertop transformations. (A do it yourself kit to actually PAINT your counter to look like stone). Interested, I checked out the website. I was disappointed to see a limited selection of faux finishes, and no marble ones.
So I did my own search for faux marble, and found that Home Depot sells Formica 180fx Calacatta Marble laminate countertops ! I think they are only $16 per square foot. Much cheaper than real marble counters!

Looks just like the real thing to me! Would you do it?
I've seen this & I'm really impressed by how well they have done the veining. I'm wondering if they could do a rounded edge to make it look even more like a solid surface.
