Mow easily and stop weeds with landscape shingles
Its that time of year again! Back to maintaining the lawn and gardens. Actually, I enjoy mowing the lawn. The hardest part though is mowing around the flower beds because they are outlined in rocks.
My friend had a great idea (all these photos are from her beautiful yard). She went to Home Depot and bought a package of roof shingles. Then she tucked them under the rocks around her beds. She cut them to fit, as she worked around the curves. Not only does it make for easier mowing, but it keeps the weeds from growing in between the rocks! And, I think they look like embedded bricks!

This is the BEST idea EVER!!!thank-you...
ReplyDeleteDana, Not a bad idea. I live in the country and have lots of flower gardens. The weeds have became so unmanageable over years. I hate to have to use all the nasty sprays and break my back constantly pulling weeds. This may help out a lot. Not only with weeding around the rocks I use as well bordering my beds, but when I mow I will have a better view of my rocks and not hit them because I get to close. Defiantly going to try this. Also a plus my husbands a carpenter so we always have some extra shingles!
