gussying up the shades
I've been working like crazy over here to prepare for the Christmas Home tour. I keep seeing projects around my house that are only half done, and having a couple hundred strangers walk through my home is motivation to finish them up! One thing on the to do list was to replace a lamp shade that the kids knocked over and broke. I added white ruffle trim from Walmart to the bottom...
I just hot glue it along the edge of the shade. My glue guns have been through wars. Can you tell?! They always have things stuck to them like pink fabric. :)
It's amazing how a little trim can transform, isn't it?
By the way, did you notice the lantern in the background of the first photo? It was this one! I took out the glass, because I didn't like the frosted squares on it. Then I spray painted it white. It was looking pretty shabby (not in a good way) after being left outside in the elements.

I love this idea! I have a few lampshades that need a makeover! Mimi
