$1.55 topiary makeover
Remember this post on faux greenery? I'm always on the look out for greenery that looks real, so I was thrilled to find this topiary at the church rummage sale a couple of weeks ago. See the price on it? That's right...$1.50. I knew it had potential.
Underneath one of the tables at the sale I saw a box of pots. Most of them were terra cotta, except this one. The price? 5 cents!
So I brought them home and prepared for a makeover. First, I took some wire cutters and chopped off the head of the topiary, leaving a couple inches of the neck.
I said good bye to the black potted base of the topiary, and tossed it into the trash. Using the hose attachment on my vacuum, I thoroughly vacuumed the topiary head.
Next, I cleaned and shined up the pale yellow pot, and plopped the topiary head right into it.
I love how it turned out! I think it looks like a fancy rosemary plant that you would buy at a boutique. Something that would be priced much higher than $1.55. What do you think?

I have a similar looking topiary. I think it is now time to cut it down! Just a side note, love your blog but hate toggling back and forth to read more. Once I click read more, I then have to hit the back key to go back to read your other posts. Too much time.
